Warrants rarely go away. If you don't know why the law is looking for you go to a pay phone, call them and ask. If you don't ask how do you expect to be able to defend yourself should they catch up with you? When computer systems change, a law enforcement agency CAN lose your warrant. I had the 15th largest city in America lose police reports while re-structuring their files. When and if you call, make sure you have a "Warrant" and not a "Wanted" which most people confuse the two. A warrant means that some law enforcement agency believes that you committed a crime, whereas a wanted mean that some law enforcement agency believes that you have information that will assist them in solving a crime; even if that info makes you a suspect, which of course, you will be held or eventually have a warrant. A wanted will disappear once a case is closed or the police has made contact with you.

Also, you should know that you will NEVER be expedited, that is, brought by authorities to anther state for a misdemeanor. The process is to much trouble if you don't agree to waiving your rights under "Habeas Corpus."

Will your misdemeanor warrant go away?

Only if the state it is issued in has a statute of limitations on the crime itself.

How long does it take for a misdemeanor warrant to go away in Idaho?

Your criminal record is permanent. You might get your juvenile crimes sealed away, but nothing goes away on your adult record by itself. You can try to have your misdemeanor expunged from your record if you can convince the judge that you have really changed and deserve it.

If you have a warrant in Tarrant county Texas and live in Harris county will they expedite you to Tarrant County if you get pulled over?

well it depends on if it is a misdemeanor warrant or a felony. Misdemeanor they would more than likely not because harris county is quite a ways away like 4 1/2 hrs right? but a felony they most definitely would. but usually misdemeanors are overlooked when you're that far away because its too much of a hassle and cost too much for them especially if you're talking class c like traffic tickets and such.

Can you resolve a felony fugitive warrant from the state of Oregon if you live in Texas?

If you are wanted on a felony warrant by Oregon, AND Oregon REALLY wants you, they will have Texas arrest you on an interstate warrant and have you extradited back to OR.Best advice: You, or your attorney, contact OR and offer to get it squared away. Believe me, these things NEVER go away - especially a felony - and if you believe in Murphy's Law, it these things have a habit of suddenly jumping up and biting you and get you into a world of trouble, right when you least expect it.

You have an arrest warrant you think just a bench warrant in Wisconsin for misdemeanor DUI Will that go away in time or do you have to face the music?

No, arrest warrants do not expire. You will have to settle it with the court. Added: In addition to that, because of the unanswered DUI, your driving privileges are no doubt suspended or revoked by the state. DMV records never "go away" and all states are linked via interstate data transfer.

Do misdemeanor warrants expire in AZ?

There is no statue of limitations on any warrant anywhere. However you will not be extradited for a misdemeanor warrant. Yes, there is statute of limitations on misdemeanor offenses. If you stay out of trouble for seven years or out of the state, the warrant will go away. I had one for a marijuana possession charge and laid low for seven years and when I finally went back to AZ I was picked up for it, but when I went to court it was thrown out due to the statute of limitations. Alot of people don't know the laws and just because you get picked up for an old warrant doesn't mean it will stick. Some states like New York don't have statute of limitations but AZ does. Answer The above stated answer doesn't answer the question of the warrant. As you can plainly see, the warrant was still active even though the charge was droped. Warrants do not expire in any state. The charge for which the warrant was issued does, however. Most states have a 2-3 year limit on misdemenors, to try them, but the warrant will not expire. Arizona has a 3 year statute of limitations on certain misdemenors so the person cited above wasted 4 years. As described, when he returned to the state 7 years later, the warrant was served.

Will Hernado County extradite for a misdemeanor?

Possibly, depending on the category of the misdemeanor, the distance where you are currently located, their financial situation, and your prior record. Law enforcement in the district holding the active warrant is responsible for fees associated with extraditing you from the location where you've been picked up. When they are informed that you are in custody, the appropriate official will examine the totality of the case and consider whether or not it is a good use of their resources. If it is a minor misdemeanor and you are halfway across the country, they aren't going to pay to have you sent back. However, if it is a more serious misdemeanor and you are 20 miles away, they will.

If you run from a warrant for so long does it go away?
