Some mitochondrial DNA has been taken into the nuclear DNA where it's presence is rather obvious. And the mitochondria fission in reproducing themselves.
This is an odd question. Anything that ISN'T mitochondria is a NON-example. So, stones and rocks are not mitochondria.
