Best Answer

An example of a molecule that contains only one type of atom is a diatomic gas. Diatomic gases include Hydrogen, Oxygen and Nitrogen. Inert gases are not diatomic.

A molecule of any element is made up of one type of atom. So carbon, hydrogen, oxygen and ozone molecules, among many others, are each made up of one type of atom. However the oxygen molecule is made of atoms that are different from those in the hydrogen molecule.
