It towers 14,505 feet/4,421 meters in height. It's only 76 miles/122 kilometrs from Badwater, which is the lowest point in the Death Valley National Park and indeed in all of North America.
Mount Whitney is found in eastern California. It straddles the bounday of Inyo and Tulare counties. It includes parts of Sequoia National Park, the John Muir Trail, and the Inyo National Forest.
