Mohammad is the last and final prophet for All mankind.Islam is very old religion started from the first prophet Adam PBUH & assured by all Allah's Messengers which is the message of Monotheism (to believe in Allah, the only one God with no one associated to Him).

Boxing! But seriously, you are probably thinking about the preacher Muhammad. If you put Ali at the end of that name, you are talking about the famous boxer. Back to the point, Muhammad started a new religion called Islam. Allah is Islam's god. He started preaching after the angel Gabriel appeared to him. He had many scholars, and after his death, they wrote about his life and preachings in a book they call the Qur'an, the Islam "bible" if you wanna put it that way.
Islam is not a new religion. Prophet Adam, Noah, Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Joseph, Moses, Jesus and the last Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon them all); they all called people to Islam: Believe in One God and submit to His will; do what is right and don't do what is wrong. If the question is regarding when did the last messenger, Muhammad, peace be upon him come? He was born in the year 570 A.D. and he became a prophet at the age of 40, that means in the year 610. i.e 1400 years ago.
