My 1993 ranger 4cyl has a m50d-r1 transmission 5 speed you have to get out of first gear almost as soon as the truck is rolling can this be changed?

it probably has what some call a granny gear or a towing gear. it is geared way down to make it easier to take off from a stop when pulling a load. as to can it be changed, porbably not but when you take off just start off in second gear.

NOPE! haha that's only for 1988-1997 v6 ranger,bII,exploder,and aerostar.(also Mazda-ranger same diff)not sure what goes in 4 banger... do you have a m50dr1??? i need one. sask Canada (Regina) email me if you know of one... funisfoundofftheroad@hotmail.com for 2wd thx

You could just drill a hole in the side. :) Just kidding, there is two plugs in the side on the drivers side, one says drain, one says fill. Filling it is a night mare. better to just take it to J-lube and have them do it.
