Try changing the fuel filter at the frame rail, driver's side. I had the same problem with my 95 F150 with a 5.0L and since I changed that fuel filter, it starts ok all the time. I can't explain it, but it worked.
try changing trans strainer and fluid. I had that problem before and it worked. The strainer was clogged and fluids wasn't reaching trans. The stick showed it to be full, however the strainer was clogged.
"worked" here is an intransitive verb, because it has no direct object. The sentence does not say what was worked by Luis. In the sentence, "Luis worked the problem very quickly.", worked is transitive because it has a direct object, the problem was worked.
