My 3 yr old daughter is having her tonsils removed tomorrow at 10 am is it okay to drink after midnight or even the morning of the surgery?

Ideally your doctor or hospital should have given you instructions. Please take this answer as general advice, because practice may vary slightly from place to place. For adults, generally the rule is nothing to eat or drink for at least 8 hours before having a general anesthetic. For children, this time is usually shortened to 6 or even 4 hours. Some places will allow children to have clear fluids up to 4 hours before (that means water, apple juice or pop, but NOTHING you can't see through - Orange Juice or soup are not okay!) but no solids after 6-8 hours before. For children under 6, some places will allow clear fluids up to 2 hours before. You are definitely safe if she has something after midnight, up to at least 4 am I would say, but if she has something the morning of surgery you risk having her operation cancelled or at least delayed.
Can you call the hospital and ask? Usually there will be someone such as a resident on call overnight who should be able to answer your question.
