Take him to vet immediately. He's only 7 months old--use yopur head! And keep your drugs where he cannot get them.
I would consider the Xanax much stronger.
Ativan contains Lorazepam. It is a sedative and anxiolytic.
I have taken 5 glasses of wine and 1mg Ativan before going to sleep...I slept like a baby! The problem is if you increase the Ativan dose, I read it can be lethal!
I have 1mg tablets of Ativan that I take when I get anxiety symptoms. There have been some months where I've had to take a few a week and other months where I've had to take none at all. I think as long as you are not using it daily and monitoring your usage, dependency should not be an issue.
When you go to grad school and get prescribed Ativan because you can't sleep and you're stressed, Ativan is the worst possible answer because you won't be able to remember what you studied and you'll get booted out of grad school.
Alcohol intensifies the effect of benzodiazepines (such as Ativan, Xanax & Klonopin). This can lead to oversedation, incoordination, slurring of speech, and increased risk of falls and accidents.
1mg Xanax = 2mg Ativan or 20mg Valium. You also have to consider onset and duration of action. Xanax is very fast-acting but only has a half-life of 6-12 hours. Ativan has a relatively quick onset with a half-life of 10-20 hours. Valium on the other hand, is a slow-acting benzo and stays in your system for days.
From what I remember xanax has a half life of 48 hours. In 7 days you will be ok. Ativan will have similar metabolites so you ought to be fine either way. IF it makes you anxious drink some water and flush it out.
how long do it take for ativan to leave your system if yo only took 2 1mg before going to the dentist
Most benzodiazepine equivalency charts show 10mg Valium = 1mg Ativan so it should work, HOWEVER, be cautious when subsitituting or combining benzos as effects are VERY relative to each person. Paradoxical reactions can occur in one benzo and not another. For example, My cousin can't take Valium- it makes her hyper and irritable, but 0.5mg Ativan knocks her out.
My doctor prescribed me .5 Atenolol, and 1mg Ativan. I take both right before bed, so as to alleviate chest pains from stress. Hope this helps.
First, assess how intoxicated you are from the Ativan (if at all). If you don't feel intoxicated from the Ativan and it's been 8hrs since your last dose, you can drink IN MODERATION! (one 12oz beer or 5oz wine or 1.5oz spirits) If you want to get drunk from alcohol, you have to wait 36 hours.
