My 86 Mercury Cougar digital speedometer and digital radio are both so dim as to be unreadable both light up very dimly when key is turned on but never get any brighter?

Is that the factory radio?
First thing to check is the bulbs on the backside of the gauge cluster.
I'm replacing all mine tonight :)
