My 89 Oldsmobile Cutless Battery running dead while driving and engine appeared hot when I opened hood yet the dash temp gauge read normal so could it be Battery Alternator or Worse?

More than likely it's your alternator. I wouldn't be worried about the engine running hot. Most older car engines run hotter than new cars.
