My Computer hangs when I gets the message 'press tab to enter post or del to enter setup' while I starts my computer and system won't accept any key at this screen What should you do?

This prompt is something that is on every IBM based PC made today. It's in different forms (some say to tapDEL key, others F10, and others F1). When you enter the setup, you go into the computer's CMOS where many advanced hardware and security settings for the computer can be set. On newer computers where settings for Motherboard timing, voltages, etc. can be changed, you can ruin your computer ifyou make the wrong change. One setting that is commonly accessed by a Computer Technician is a setting to change the order of boot devices (CD-ROM, Hard Drive, or Floppy Disk). The other menu choice that you see (for entering the POST) is what is referred to as the Power-On Self Test. This option is what you select in order to start the computer in normal mode to boot to your Operating System (typically DOS, Windows, Linux, or OS2 depending on the age of your computer). What actually happens when you boot your computer first... is that the PC performs a hardware diagnostic of all the hardware devices inside the PC. Each device (sound card, video card, hard drive, motherboard, keyboard, etc.) all sort of say "I'm here" to the BIOS controller. This step is very quick, and then the PC goes to loading the OS from the files on the specified boot device (set in the CMOS).

Hi this is somewhat common and is a boot problem. What should be done is prepare a boot cd and boot the system and repair or if possible use safe mode to boot up and repair.
