It doesn't sound like a problem the way you worded it. If it stopped to defrost all the time it wouldn't keep anything cold
If this is the condenser that is frozen, you have a problem with the defrost cycle. There are 2 things that need to be checked, the defrost sensor and the defrost control board. More than likely it is the defrost control board that is the problem and of course that is the more costly of the 2.
My double door Kenmore refrigerator ice & water dispenser in the door is always dripping water, filling up the tray. There is no way water can drain out and it overfill the tray dripping out of the tray. Can some one help me on how to fix this problem?
If a refrigerator doesn't work, one should defrost the machine and bring all the settings down to zero. If there are hot areas in the refrigerator, the condenser area should be cleaned. If this doesn't work and the refrigerator still doesn't operate, then one should call the GE refrigerator repair man or woman. Some of the food may have frost inside the packaging. This is no problem and is considered usual. Special and persisting problems with the defrost unit would require specialized services of the repair people. Making sure the condenser area is clean provides preventive maintenance on the unit.
The default for heaters is to go to defrost if there is a problem in the system. You will have to get under the dash to find the problem. Probably best to take it in as they can get tricky without diagrams depending on the system
If defrost is on it could be your compressor going bad. See what happens when you leave off defrost or disconnect your compressor. It only controls defrost and air conditioning. I had the same problem
no defrost on left side of car and antifreeze draining on right side of car. What is the problem
When there is a problem with the vent system it dfaults to the defrost setting. Sounds like you have a problem in the doors that direct the air flow.
I have had this problem with a refrigerator before. The best thing to do is turn the refrigerator to its lowest setting and do not place any items on the top shelf near the air unit. Unfortunately, the problem cannot be fixed and your refrigerator will need replacement.
