Take your vehicle to a dealer to have the supplemental inflatable restraint (SIR) system checked out. A self-diagnosis circuit in the SIR module displays a light when the ignition switch is turned to the ON position. If the system is operating normally, the light should go out after seven flashes. If the light doesn't come on, or doesn't go off after seven flashes, or it comes on while you are driving the vehicle, there is a malfunction in the SIR system. Have it inspected and repaired as soon as possible. Do not attempt to troubleshoot or service the SIR system yourself. Even a small mistake could cause the SIR system to malfunction when you need it.
