Sounds like this relationship is just starting and you haven't been dating very long. It could be he is just not as into you as you are into him or it could be a normal dating pattern for him. You can't make someone like you or want to be with you. Keep it cool and don't get emotional with him about this. The fact he tells you this sounds like an excuse to stop seeing you. Consider yourself lucky if you escaped him if that is the case. My best guess is he is a player and got what he wanted from you ( sex???).
