Check bulbs Fuse Stop light switch
First check the bulbs. If they are good then the switch that is connected to the brake pedal could have gone bad. Hope this helps.

Yes
Do I need rubber like caps on new replaced bulbs in the dash
The brake lights are a separate circuit from the tail lights. If the bulbs and fuse checks okay, I would suspect the brake light switch is at fault.
It can be connection wires, bulbs or fuses.
Have you checked all the relays? If so, check the wires for shorts. If you have dash lights its probably a short. The fuse for brake lights often also carry the dash light too in an effort to let you know that you have brake lights out.
Check the tail light bulbs, clean it if you have using fine sandpaper. If it did no work check the cable connected to the lights. If the cable integriry was not damaged, check the fuse box.
