Probably automatic Transmission Fluid.
Automatic Transmission Fluid
Break fluid is a possibility.... Do not use the car until a qualified mechanic has checked it out.
while facing the front of car on left side of engine between the left side of the car and the engine{far left] you should see a small box that has some dark oilly looking liquid in it that's it fill to the line on the side of box
the gas tank is probably damaged possibly the AC unit of the car dripping from condensation, see if the fluid has a smell, if not. i wouldn't worry, unless you only put water in your radiator instead of antifreeze
The 2002 E2.2L engine 4speed auto does not have a transmission dipstick!! To check the fluid level you have to go under the car and unscrew and remove a threaded plug in the transmission pan. The car must be level when you do this. After you remove the plug, check to see if any transmission fluid is dripping from the hole. If there is then you don't need transmission fluid. If it is not dripping fluid you need to add some. You add fluid until it begins dripping from the hole. You then replace the plug. To add fluid you must find and unscrew a threaded cap found by looking under the hood on the driver's side on top of the transmission. Sometimes the cap is red and sometimes it is black. You may find it easier to go to a quick oil change place and get them to check it for you.
Green fluid is engine coolant. I'd get your mechanic to look at your radiator. If you google on the interwebs for +car +green +fluid theres an ehow page (and a bunch of others) that will give you more then enough information. Good luck!
If it was reddish in color that is just what you did.
The car has to be jacked up and level. The engine needs to be warm and running in Park. Remove threaded plug (11mm socket) adjacent to the oil pan. If no fluid runs out add fluid (red screw cap on top of transmission) until it starts dripping out the hole at the bottom. The Hayes manual says the car should not be running. That is not correct. If you don't have the car running and let the fluid out as the directions say you will be about a quart and a half low. The car must be in park and running.
Several things can cause a fire. A fuel leak or transmission fluid dripping on a hot exhaust can cause a fire, or an electrical fire can occur from a short in the system.
There is no dipstick. Level is checked via a specific bolt hole after engine is warm and running and the car is 'level'. If the transmission fluid is slightly dripping out of this bolt hole, or is even with the threads, then the level is correct.
what type of car. ck for any thing that might be dripping on p/s belt. ck for water pump dripping coolant on p/s belt...... if not, try flushing system if fluid doent look clear. worked? ccol. if not< replace pump but check operation of rack and pinion
the car is a Renault espace diesel
