theres a thing called a PAWL that engages the starter motor to the flywheel ofthe vehicle. when you try to use it the pawl sticks either in orout and makesa crunching noise.. youeitherneed a new starter or a rebuilt one. I personally have cleaned and lubricated starter pawls on many vehicles and itworks for a while until it really wears out. try not treating the starter like trash and either replace it or deal with it
Yep, starter is going bad.
sounds like your in the market for a starter.
Follow the positive (+) wire from the battery it goes straight on to the starter motor.
Probably a bad key switch, the starter needs voltage from the switch to the solenoid to engage so start there. You might also want to look at the starter, sometimes something can get lodged down there and bridge the connection.
Loose connection? Bad starter (flat spot)? Bad starter solenoid?
Follow the thick red cable from the positive terminal on the battery. It leads straight to the starter motor.
get your starter check I had same problem it was faulty starter
either the kick panel or on the starter itself. sometimes ther are 2 of them
When a starter goes completely out then the engine will not turn over. A starter that is going bad could start sometimes or make considerable noise.
YOU SAID THAT, BY PASS IT, IDENTIFY TE LINE COMING FROM THE STARTER SWITCH AND SEND A STRAIGHT LINE(wire) to the SAME WIRE SIGNAL FOR THE STARTER. I DID IT ALREADY
Without knowing even the make of your vehicle, I think you should suspect the starter contacts. They can get burned and worn away and barely make contact . . . or sometimes not.
disconnect cables at battery, then remove wires from starter, then take out 3 mounting bolts that hold starter in,sometimes you can remove wires when starter is out, if they are long enough.
