I had to replace the shift link cable twice in an old car of mine - the first one wore out due to age and the first replacement cable was defective. Unfortunately those cables are sold as complete units - you wont be able to buy the transmission end of the cable and just simply patch it in because the ends of the cable are "machine formed" and crimped under extremely high pressure.
If you decide to replace the cable yourself, though, be sure that the transmission is set to "PARK" by gently pushing the little lever that the shifter cable connects to all the way forward (toward the front of the car). I have a feeling that your car is still "in gear" and that's why it won't start.
That is likely the wire feed for the kick down switch. Power from a switch on the throttle linkage is sent to this terminal at full throttle. If it does not up shift at all then it has a serius problem, either concerning the vacume modulator or govenor
Missing or damaged retaining clips.
Check for the part that is missing.
Clutch hydrauic problem with master, slave, line or check where the master connects to the clutch pedal for a missing bushing
A problem with several causes. First i would check and make sure that all the linkages were working between the shifter and the transmission. most of the time, there may be a loose bolt or missing pin on the linkage. if all of that is o.k., check fluid levels to make sure it is full. If all that is o.k., you probably need to see about a transmission or transmission repair.
Check the Phazer's.
Probably because of the missing insulation from the wire leading from the solonoid on the transmission, causing the bare wire to contact a metal surface, thus creating a short circuit and blowing the fuse.
drivers side, in the transmission. The dipstick may be broken or Missing. Look for a tube the size of a pencil.
loose or missing torque converter bolt to the flywheel
Yes
The linkage bushings are worn/missing/broken or the wiper arms are not timed properly to the wiper transmissions.
The trans was built with RTV silicone as the gaskets.
