My dog drank water out of a puddle with oil in it what will happend to my dog?

That would depend greatly on the type of oil. If it was something like olive or canola oil in large quantity, he would likely have loose bowels and an upset stomach for a while. If it was something like motor oil, the results could be more serious. In this case, you would need to contact your vet and let them know exactly what the dog drank and how much. They will let you know if they need to see him, or what type of first aid to proceed with.

∙ 13y agoChances are that the oil would have gone past the dogs digestive system, causing great volatile effect and harm to the dogs system. The best possible suggestion and solution is to take the dog to the vet ASAP; but it depends on the amount of oil and when it was!

Motor oil can be extremely toxic to dogs, particularly used motor oil. This is potentially fatal, so veterinary treatment as soon as possible is essential.
