My dog will lay down seem to be relaxed but whimper and cry almost imperceptedly. I know he's eaten gone out and pooped and requires nothing. He is a Golden Retreiver and about 10-months old.?

You have pretty much answered this one! :-) I take it no one warned you? For about the first 2-3 years, a golden will want nothing more than to be the center of your world - just like a toddler. And then they will still want it but may not be as vocal about it. They are VERY people-oriented, and can become so attached to their owners it will drive you nuts. I will guess that he is in good health, eating well, and has good bladder and bowel habits. If all else is normal, then I believe he is simply trying to get your attention the only way he can... to ask for it... So take some time out from your busy schedule and go play!
