My fantail goldfish seems to stay at the bottom doesn't swim round very often but does swim to the top to get some food. What is wrong?

Goldfish are moderately inactive fish. They will spend much of their time just floating or sitting at the bottom.

The fantail goldfish is a good choice for beginners since they are very hardy and due to the fact that Fantail goldfish can be kept in temperatures close to the freezing point. What is a single tailed goldfish?

Betta fish sleep on the bottom of the tank. I've never seen one close its eyes but they will often rest on the bottom when there is no action going on around them. Betta like to be around movement. That is why we have my betta fish in our living room.
