Your friend being mean to you this year could be because she has new friends and is trying to look cool for them. It is a horrible thing to have to go through but if she was a true "friend" she would not be acting this way.

You shouldn't need to. You should do your best to make your friends become friends, at first. You should do all you can to make them better. Figure our my they are not friends, and are making you choose. Make them understand, that fighting is silly, and non helpful. If you wish not to do that, and if you wish to choose what you must do, is choose who is nicer to you. Or who you think would be best as your friend. Example: You have 2 friends, Stacey and macey: Stacey: Nicer friend, always was there for you. Helps you, and treats you like your own sister. That doesnt change the relationship you have with her! Just keep in touch with her and plan visits so you can see each other.
