herpes is a form of the common cold sore, you should not have oral sex when you have a cold sore, it does not mean he has been unfaithful.
The Herpes simplex virus can be transmitted by saliva, semen, and vaginal fluids. Once contracted, the virus does not go away. It may lay dormant within the body for many years with no symptoms. The sores are more likely to erupt during times of illness or stress. In short, your husband could have potentially contracted the virus from sharing a straw with his date in 8th grade.
