Did you replace the throttle body warming plate?
To bleed properly run the engine THEN undo the coolant cap and top up to full - do not undo when cold as the expansion tank is lower than the head of the radiator, always use orange extended life coolant

Inoperative radiator fans, bad water pump, failed headgasket?
try your thermostat
Replace the Thermostat, and bleed all air from the cooling system.
It could be a plugged radiator or a blown headgasket. Understand that many of the smaller, especially the Japanese engines are very fragile when it comes to overheating. If it overheated once you may have damaged the headgasket and warped the head. Don't forget the heater core either. If the engine warms up, but you don't get any heat, the core is blocked or plugged. Suggest you always replace the thermostat when you do coolant work. They're cheap and a quick fix.
Why dose my 232i overheating
brilliant, the thermostat is backwards
My 2000 would overheat at idle; in park & slow traffic. Ran normal on the highway. I 1st replaced the fan relay everyone has been blogging about, engine still overheated. Next attempt for victory, I replaced the temp sensor switch; defeated again. I then replaced the thermostat & haven't had a overheating incident since.
are the cooling fans coming on
Is your fan coming on?
Is you Geo Tracker overheating or the temperature is running almost hot then you need to change you thermostat
Blown head gastet, radiator leaking, thermostat needs to be replaced Blown head gastet, radiator leaking, thermostat needs to be replaced
Even though you have already replaced the thermostat, there are other issues that can cause your Nissan Maxima to overheat. Your fan may be stuck and not operating as it should.
