my 95 Chevy Ilumina does same thing. I have tried many things changing fuel filter and spark plugs has helped in the past also I have replaced my fuel pump many times. I am experiencing this problem again.
Check the fuel filter. If it is the original, change it. If that doesn't help, find a mechanic.
They stopped making Lumina's in 2000

follow the battery + cable from the battery down to the starter post. There you will find a starter.
Remove the positive cable from your 1992 Chevy Lumina battery. Remove the cables from the front of the starter. Remove the starter retaining bolts. Reverse the process to install your new starter.
