My security feature is on in my 2001 Monte Carlo ss I opened trunk then I opened door with keyless remote it made my security light go on now my car won't turnover please help?

kind of had same problem but turned out to be something else but a guy who had a Monte Carlo pulled up to us and told us if our problem was the security light to turn on the ignition to the on position do not start car and leave for 10 minutes and then turn off and then try starting car and that should reset the security light he said it happened to him and that is what Chevy told him to do and it worked for him.
