SImple, you stay friends with them, if they invite you out with them then just go, or if not then go with other friends, and if you just want them to spend time alone, then you do that, don't avoide them, that's tha last thing you want to do. More, or less, if they get in a fight, don't get on either ones side, it will effect your friendship more, just tell them when they come to you, "i don't want to be in the middle of it, sorry" and you good to go, well, its worked for me, because my friends are understandible, its depending if your friends are.
