The cost of an email is nothing, and will reach the recipient far faster than a traditional letter. I don't know of any reason why someone would prefer the traditional method.
Yours cannot create accounts without Email ID's. You need to get at-least 1 email ID. Without an ID, you cannot log in anywhere.
