The patriarchs were the following:
Abraham or (2166 B.C.E. to 1991 B.C.E.). According to The Bible, he lived approximately 175 years. Wife was Sarah. Sons were Ismael and Isaac (Yitzhak in Hebrew). According to the bible Abraham and Sarah were 99 or 100 years old when Isaac was born.
Isaac (Yitzhak in Hebrew) (2066 B.C.E. to 1886 B.C.E.) According to the bible, he lived 180 years! Wife Rebecca (Rivka in Hebrew). Sons Esau and Jacob.
Jacob (Ya-akov in Hebrew) (2006 B.C.E. to 1859 B.C.E). Wives Leah and Rachel. Twelve sons and one daughter. Lived 147 years according to the bible. Earned the name Israel (Yisrael) for Wrestling with an Angel. This name is given to all of his descendents and the land that G-d stipulated they should inhabit. Because he had two wives (polygamy was permitted at the time), there are four matriarchs even though there are only three patriarchs).
A patriarch is "the male head, ruler, or progenitor of a family, tribe, or people." Jacob is a patriarch whose twelve sons' descendants became the twelve tribes of Israel. Also, according to an old song, "Father Abraham had many sons," and is thus a patriarch as well.
The name Sarah comes from the name of the wife of the Old Testament patriarch Abraham. Her name meant "lady" or "princess".
