Remember the Alamo
The Battle of Midway was the turning point in the Pacific War in 1939-1945. The United States crippled the Japanese navy at this battle. They were on the defensive the rest of the war.
The mission of the Japanese Navy was to take Midway Island, to be used as a re-supply base. This mission was intercepted by US Naval forces, resulting in the "Battle of Midway."
There are very few pictures of the Battle of Shiloh. Despite it being a very historical and vital battle in the war, many reporters were focused in the Eastern theatre of the war, where the Confederate and Union capitals were. Because of this, not many people were even aware that this battle had taken place, and thus there are not many pictures of the battle, with the exception of illustrated drawings.
The Battle of the Alamo was fought at the Alamo Mission in what is now San Antonio, Texas, USA.
The name is for the Alamo Mission in San Antonio, where the Battle of the Alamo was fought in 1836.
Died 6th March 1836 at the Alamo Mission, San Antonio, Texas
The Battle of the Alamo took place near Bejar, now named San Antonio. What we now call the Alamo was a semi-fortified Catholic mission station called the Mission San Antonio de Valero built in 1724.
