The only South American countries where Spanish is not the first official language are Brazil (Portuguese), Suriname (Dutch), Guyana (English) and French Guiana (French). However, Spanish is spoken widely throughout the whole of the South American continent as a second or third official language.

There are actually 3 countries: Brazil (Portuguese is common language), Suriname (Dutch is common language) and Guyana (English is common language). French Guiana and the Falkand Islands could be included in thisnlost, but they are not countries. They are overseas territories of France and England.
