I know Mako is def used for food throughout Northeastern America. Others I have personally seen/had are dogfish and common reef shark.
In many places in the Caribbean they eat other species, such as Lemon shark, Blacktip, and other reef sharks.
Also, in many places in New England you will see 'Scrod' advertised on menus. Scrod is usually pollack, but in some cases you may actually be eating dogfish, which has a very similar flavor and texture.
