The lift arms are rather easy to replace - and widely available from your local auto parts store.
The ends are held in place my a simple spring clip - use sharp pointy tool or small flat screwdriver to pry the clip off.
One thing to keep in mind: if both lift arms are weak, have a second person hold the hatch up while doing the replacement! (hatch hit me in the head cause I wasn't thinking it through ;)
Probably not, a 2001 Windstar usually has hydraulic lifters that never need adjusting it could be a bad valve spring, or a bad lifter that will need to be replaced.
They all had hydraulic lifters. To determine if it has roller lifters, you'd probably need to take off the intake manifold and have a look.
If they are hydraulic they need to be pumped in oil first.
No. Most Honda's have mechanical lifters that need to be manually adjusted.
I think you will find that the lifters are hydraulic which means they are non adjustable. They either need replacing or the rockers need replacing.
Hydraulic lifters are not adjustable. But the valves need to be set to the proper clearance. A chiltons or haynes manual will explain how to do this.
The valves use hydraulic lifters and need no adjustment. If you feel there is a problem you need to look farther.
If they are hydraulic, they should never need adjustement. if not, you adjust lash between arms & springs.
There would be 0 backlash on a hydraulic cam. If you asking about piston to valve clearance, you would want about .100" , but shouldn't need to worry about it if it's stock.
SOMETIMES poor maintenance can contribute to sticking lifters. If you suspect that as the cause, try flushing the crankcase with a good additive for removing sludge. It probably won't help, but it's worth a try, just in case that's all that's wrong. If THAT doesn't help, you'll need new lifters and I wouldn't bother putting new lifters in without replacing the camshaft. Hydraulic lifters are self adjusting, so you won't get any benefit from attempting to adjust your valves.
Yes, the lifters on a 1994 Mitsubishi Mighty Max with a 2.4 L engine can be adjusted, but it depends on whether they are hydraulic or solid lifters. The 2.4 L engine typically uses hydraulic lifters, which self-adjust to some extent, but if there's a ticking noise or poor performance, it may indicate a need for inspection or adjustment. If the lifters are solid, they will require manual adjustment to maintain proper clearance. Always refer to the service manual for specific procedures and specifications.
