Stop cleaning them with water or any other cleaning solvent. Use ONLY a dry rag to wipe them off. Do not wait until dust builds up and becomes solid dirt. Its WOOD, just like any other wood if not treated correctly it will go bad. I owe 15 windows, my first two blinds went green, I called and complaint but once they replaced my two blinds and advice me to use a vacuum to dust them, I havent had any problems.
