If the sound on a computer doesn't work correctly, it is wise to check the cords and make sure everything is plugged in. If that does not work, be sure the volume is turned up on the actual computer. If all else fails, consider investing in a new sound card.

∙ 14y agoTry different speakers- if that doesent work- Download your computer's sound driver- if that doesn't work- play with your sound settings in control panel- if that still doesn't work, ask a professional.

∙ 13y agoCheck the master volume control, and the plugs and power switch on your speakers (if any). You can also run a diagnostic on your sound card from the Help troubleshooting guide. If you have recently added hardware or software, these could also affect the operation of some sound functions.
To check your system sounds, open the Control Panel and the Sound and Audio Devices folder. On the Sounds tab, you should be able to play your Windows system sounds.
