Respiratory rate, which is also called breathing rate, is the same for teens as adults. There should be between 12 and 16 breaths per minute. However, as a child enters later teens his/her resting breathing rate should decrease slightly from what it was in his/her early teens.

The normal heart rate for adults is between 60-100 beats per minute. However, medications and certain conditions can raise and lower your normal pulse rate. Additionally, people who are very physically fit sometimes have a much lower resting heart rate. See your doctor to determine what a proper heart rate is for yourself personally.
60 bpm (beats per minute) to 100 bpm is considered normal. and i would give or take 10 beats on either side
If this person is in very good physical shape (ie. a runner or athlete) then 48bpm would be fine. Other then that I would expect a rate between 60-100 bpm. Keep in mind that certain conditions and medications can alter vital signs. Your best bet is to speak with your doctor or pharmacist if you are concerned.
