My 2002 4DR LT with 2.5L V6 has 4 O2 sensors: 1 on each side upstream (before each exhaust manifold catalytic converter - "cat"), and 1 on each side downstream (behind each exhaust manifold cat) just behind the flanges on the "Y" pipe that connects the exhaust manifolds/cats to the rear cat. The 3rd/rear cat is located between the "Y" pipe and the muffler on the driver's side and doesn't have any sensor connections.

There are a number of oxygen sensors on the 1997 Cadillac STS. These are found on the firewall, inside the exhaust manifold, and behind the catalytic converter depending on the engine model.
The location of number one cylinder depends on the manufacturer of the engine. For example, a Ford 302 and a Chevrolet 350 have number one cylinders on opposite sides.
Unfortunately, a 1941 Chevrolet may not have a VIN number! American auto manufacturers didn't start really using a VIN number until the early 60s, and earlier cars were simply marked with a production serial number, if at all.
The Chevrolet brand has decent resale value. Like many other cars, if the condition of the car is kept clean and the number of mileage is kept down it compares to all compeititors including other Cheverolets.

You should repair it as soon as possible because it can cause the catalytic converter or oxygen sensors to go bad. Then you are spending money you could have saved.
Bank one is the side of the engine with cylinder number one. Bank two would be the other side if equipped. Sensor one is before the catalytic converter, sensor two is after.
Light sensors measure the number of photons or the energy of light hitting the sensor.
