i have a 98 and I'm having the same problem. if you are firmiliar with the look or smell of coolant check for that too. chances are that my head gasket is blown and i need to replace it. you probably have fluid (oil&coolant) dripping from your spark plugs. i went to an auto shop(Strauss) and got an estimate at $1700. if your like me you can't exactly afford that price. The basic operation of fixing this problem is to drain your oil, take the engine head appart, remove the gasket and clean the dirt off of the heads. if you leave any dirt on you will result with the same problem you started with. Put the engine back together and your on your way. The parts you will need to do this are new head gaskets (i drive the 2.5L 6 cylinder) and because they have by now been saturated with fluids your going to want new ignition cables and spark plugs. the parts cost me around $180 and if your smart you'll do what i did and find a friend that will do it for $100 and a bottle of captain Morgan. good luck.
Screwed into the heads.
4 spark plugs
yes it does, every car has spark plugs or it wouldn't start.
no the stratus version has different sensor plugs and tha exle shaft supports are different
I had a similar issue, auto parts store sold me the wrong spark plugs. look into your plugs and wires.
If it is a v6, you need to remove the upper ontake plenum to get acess to the rear three plugs. Not fun.
At the end of the plug wires that don't connect to the spark module.
How do I change the spark plug wires in a 1997 dodge stratus? It seems that there are three plugs and wires that are easy to get to on the front of the engine, but the other three are somewhere behind the engine near the firewall. Thank you.
It will "work" but is never a good idea. Stop leak not only stops external leaks, but also plugs small internal passages in engines and radiators, which can lead to overheating.
you have to take the intake manifold off and the other three are under it
Follow the plug wires to the end. One end connects to the "distributor" along with the other wires. The other end connects to the spark plugs...
pull the old spark plug out then put the new one>>>>>>.sukcer
