somtime if you unlock the passenger side door with a working key it will shut down the alarm it works on a Cherokee i know never tryed on a durango good luck.
The only way to disarm it is with the oem remote.i would check the manual
The factory alarm is not adjustable.
You can not disconnect the factory alarm, it is built into the computers.
The factory alarm can not be disabled. It can only be repaired if malfunctioning.
The 1993 Ford Ranger does not have an alarm override but. You can override the alarm system by removing the alarm system fuse.
A person can get a layout for this cars factory fitted alarm systems in the cars maintenance manual. It can also be obtained in the repair manual or with the original alarm system.
If it is a factory alarm, then this information can be found in your owner's manual. Don't have one, get one. Dealer or salvage yard is a source. If it is aftermarket and you don't have the manual, contact the manufacture of the system. the factory 'security system' can be disabled by closing the door, and locking and unlocking it with the key.
Obtain a new key/fob from the dealer. Disarming all of this seems to be counterproductive since most of it prevents theft of the entire truck. Losing the fob is small stuff comparatively.
Mine doesn't have the factory alarm, but I think all you have to do is remove a fuse from the fuse box. I'm sure there's one that says "Alarm" next to it, but check your manual to be sure.
the factory alarm has a power circuit, find it and remove the appropriate relay, fuse, or connector... the library should have a pro shop manual available with all the info about the factory alarm... good luck:)
