Let's define "Goes Out"...

# Wears out - this is typical and will cause the front wheel to 'lean in' at the top - no longer standing straight up and down. This will eat up the tire tread, and very unevenly.

# Fails and breaks - I don't know what the incidence of complete failure is - I suspect it to be very rare.
