Answer: I know a guy who can answer that and I had asked him the same question he managed to keep all his cash and his members items including Ahrims staff, hood, robe and more!?
Answer: You keep money, and all non-members items. You also keep members-only items, but you can't use them until you get a membership again - so you may want to try and sell some of the items before your membership expires. Bank space used to be a problem for ex-members; with a recent upgrade, this is no longer a problem (members-only items are kept in a separate bank space, and don't count towards your nonmembers item limit).
