2000 BLAZER FRONT WHEEL HUB INSTALLATION, WHERE DOES THE LARGE O-RING GO? You can see the outer race of the wheel bearing is stepped. The large o-ring goes over the first step and buts up against the second. The o-ring may be slightly larger than the smaller diameter area on the outer race, fit a little loose, and be a little larger on outside diameter than the larger part of the bearing. The hub needs to be put in evenly. Tighten each bolt a flat at a time if you need to. The o-ring should lubed a little (I used Vaseline). As you tighten the bolts continue to check the o-ring to make sure one part isn't popping out the front or back. The o-ring should rest against the step in the knuckle which corresponds to the bearing. This is not a gasket for the dust shield.
The wheel bearing is located in the Hub Assembly. It provides a reduced friction environment, making the wheel turn easier. Jack your car up then take off your tire. there should be a large nut in the center of the hub that is your wheeling bearing nut. there is also a bearing on the back side that you must remove the brake caliper to get to.
Remove the large axle nut and loosen the wheel lug nuts. Raise front of vehicle and support safely. remove wheel, remove brake caliper and brake pads, remove caliper bracket, remove brake rotor, disconnect abs wiring, remove the three 15mm bolts that hold the hub in place and remove the hub assembly, probably with the help of a hammer. Reverse procedure for assembly.
My 1980 Blazer has a 16 gallon tank, yours should be similar.

Parts were assembled in many locations across the country, but final assembly was usually at PANTEX outside Amarillo, TX.
The front bearings are sold as a hub/bearing assembly. procedure is pretty simple, remove wheel, brake caliper and rotor, axle nut, and 3 bolts attaching hub asm to spindle. no special tools, except large socket for axle nut, and possibly a torx socket for hub bolts.
a large formal assembly; "political convention"
there isn't a front or rear bumper If you are referring to a locomotive, there is a verv large assembly at the front of the car. The old trains had a bumper that was called "a cow catcher". It means exactly what it sounds like.
A bearing puller is used for pulling out bearings and gears. Different sizes of bearing puller can be used to remove bearings from simple things to very large pieces of machinery.
