I've had to resolve this issue by turning the steering wheel and playing with the key. You can try to start the truck and then quickly turn it off to get the key to come out as well. My problem ended up being a shift solenoid that was sticking and telling the truck that it was still in gear.
The key is probably jammed into the ignition by the parking brake you put there
They are burned out.
Turning my ignition on and wont turn off because it is faulty.
Starter, battery, battery connections, neutral switch,
its either the starter or your ignition
needs more fluid
It could be as simple as a plugged fuel filter. Is the check engine light on? there are no lights on i took it to a transmission shop and they said it wasnt the transmission
change ignition switch and/or tumbler
Do you mean the check engine light does not come on when you turn the ignition on? Possibly the bulb is burnt out.
Dead short between ignition switch and starter solenoid trigger wire?
try this. while holding pressure on the key towards start, turn the wheel to the left and then to the right in short motions but as far as you can. if the steering column is locked then the key wont turn because of pressure being put against the locking cam. if this does not work then you are probably going to have to replace the ignition.
I had the same problem with my Grand Am and there is a recall on the ignition switch. I had to take the vehicle to an authorized GM dealer and they replaced it for me at no cost.
