the red coolant is only used in some GM models. you can use green only if it specifies that it can be used in GM vehicles.
It's a GM product (I'm assuming) and it means that your coolant level is low. Although if it is full, it's probably a bad sensor (Rather common with Gm on that sensor). If you call GM, they'll tell you to gently hit the sensor and it should turn off if reservoir is full.
you have a coolant leak
The latest news on GM products can be found on the official GM website, they provide news on the newest products but also on upcoming products that they are still making.
You coolant level sensor has stopped working, my 93 olds regency is doing the same thing. You will need to goto the a Buick/GM dealership to get the part, it plugs into the side of the radiator.
No, it does not make the car run better. Dex-cool is a type of engine coolant most commonly used in GM products.
Dexcool by GM.
The GM vehicles use the DexCool anti-freeze. There is a replacement type of antifreeze that can be used in GM vehicles but you cannot mix them with the DexCool. To change to another type of antifreeze the cooling system should be completely flushed of the old coolant. I would advise keeping the same coolant as the manufacturer provides

should be red. GM uses Dex-cool and the factory color is red. unless it has been mixed with a different color
