can you be more specific? (where is the bot, what mission is this, etc)

if you've already talked to him just get on with the obsticle corse, if you destroyed him before the cutscene either;
a)kill yourself and hope he respawns
b)leave the area and hope he respawns
c)leave the planet and come back and hope he respawns
if he respawns then get close and get on with the cutscene and THEN you can blow 'em up.
