not my Mazda protege lx
my guess is the lower motor mount
Take it to A shop and have them clean the intake and throttle body housing.
Maybe you will need to clead the IACV (iddle air control valve), use a carburetor cleaner spray... Jorge,
simply put you can't if it is idleing not normal their is a problem surging/hunting idle=fuel pump/filter high idle =vacuum leak or sometimes fuel pump
I have a 1989 929, when its cold it runs real bad but once warmed up it has problems idleing, the car shakes and sometimes when stopped it stalls, mine is an auto, but when driving like on the highway it runs fine. Is your problem similar?
check the idle control valve not that hard to replace and inexpensive
Probably have a misfire or lean fuel mix NELSON
look for a loose vacuum line.
your car is idleing to high you need to have that looked at your car is idleing to high you need to have that looked at
Look and listen for a vacumn leak under the hood.
check the overload relay part # 201.540.32.45
You probably have a cracked EGR tube The Fiero Store has replacements Google them
air in the lines, bad fuel, dirty air filter, need more info to properly troubleshoot
94 Buick LeSabre, runs great until I step on gas and then it starts to chug and hesitate
If it is stalling when putting it into gear but not while idleing I would check your mass air flow sensor. It may need to be cleaned or replaced. If it is stalling when putting it into gear but not while idleing I would check your mass air flow sensor. It may need to be cleaned or replaced.
engine idleing to slow turn up your idle to 1500 rpm at idle drive safe
start with water pump. If its a V6 3.1L have the intake manifold gasket checked. You may have a coolant leak.
my experiencess with vehicles that cut out while idleing would be a fuel filter or fuel pump problem.
It could be one of the heat shields on the exhaust system
nevermind it ended up being the ignition coil
It may be that your electric fan isn't drawing air the way it should.
check the pcv valve and hoses if there is a vacuum leak here it wont idle
Hi, more information would be helpful! my 1989 929 has idle problems, it runs real bad if you dont let it warm up long enough but once warmed up has problem idleing, makes the car shake alot as if its about to stall, and then when stopped sometimes actually stalls. Is your car doing the same?
Hi my 2005 chevy cavalier is idleing just a little bit high for example (80km) the RPMS a are (2200) how can i adjust it myself?
Could be sticky throttle cable
Look for a vacuum air leak somewhere, most likely at the intake but could be in any of the vacuum lines.
You probably have a bad coil. You have 2 of them, I would start with the primary.
Have vehicle scanned to determine the problem
had tune up on 1992 buick 350 new plugs cap wires still idleing rough
That means that the vacuum hose MUST be hooked up to the engine on a place that there is vacuum at all times when engine is idleing are speeded up.
it is the fule cut off switch all is ok
idle air control valve allows correct amount of air that engine needs when idleing to keep air to fuel mixture where it should be
check for tune-up. chack mass air flow meter.
Shaking at idle is usually caused by worn engine mounts. It may also be caused by the exhaust system coming loose and touching the frame somewhere.
Its a sign that either your battery or alternator is starting to fail.
Anyone have problems with 2001 crv idleing and the ac compressor rapidly kicking in and out?
You can't, It's not adjustable what so ever. There is another problem somewhere if it's idleing to fast are to slow. The Idle speed is controlled by the ECM/ computor.
have your alternator check. It is like that for most car. It is not the battery's fault. But you could have a lose connection to your battery.
Hey Dee ann==Not simply idleing the engine. If you had an extra load on it to cause it to overheat this could cause it. GoodluckJoe
Check the fluid level in the trans, the whining is probably the input shaft gear mangling itself.
You might have a problem with the torque converter or the lock-up relay.if it misses that could cause it to die. if it has a carburetor the idleing speed could be set to low
Not starting when hot, or stalling ang bucking after driving or idleing in hot weather. pour cold water on sensor after no start condition to test it ( on back of head )
The two most common answers I think are change your oil and if the engine is older with high mileage then the bearings are worn.
Low coolant Water pump not working properly Cooling fan not working Thermostat not opening fully Radiator plugged or dirty Check the radiator fan.
if its carburated you can adjust it it that's probably not the problem but try it any way. couple words for you electronic valve in the carb.....
25 to 30 lbs hot idleing if it is under 10 you got problems running thicker oil will raise oil presure like 20w50 or sae 50woil.
Probably dirt caught in the needle and seat.
There are a few things that could cause an 87 Chevy Astro to idle high when it is started and warmed up. It could be a bad fuse, a leak in the vacuum, or an issue with the throttle.
No it should not, It is now hooked to direct vacuum witch is wrong. It should be hooked to ported vacuum. That means that it only has vacuum when you speed the engine up and not when it is idleing.
Everything on a car is designed to out at 100,000 miles...lol. Depends on how much it's used, how much it sat idleing in traffic, etc. It's really hard to say.
