One of my Oscars seems like he is having a hard time breathing his mouth is opening up really wide and fast and his gills are really flaring up can someone tell me what it could mean?

hi im 13 ive had Oscars and are sensitive to nitrates you should be changing the water regulary and should have an air pump and they should have a big tank and not to many tank mates
