The output sensor looks like a AA battery with wires leading into it. It monitors the speed of the motor and allows for real time adjustments as needed.
under the passenger side of the vehicle and look up. You will see The output shaft speed sensor codes maybe similar to P0720>
Once you register, there is a pdf located at the following link that can show you both the Input and Output speed sensors. http://www.hyundai-forums.com/t5491-input-output-speed-sensors.htm
there are 2 sensors. if your speedometer is inop replace the output speed sensor in trans drivers side. both look the same output is the one towards the rear.
Go to Kragen.com and search for speed sensor. You will find a picture of it.
remove the air intake box and look on top of the transmission, there are 2 sensors in the top case. the one closer to the bell housing is the input turbine speed sensor, the other is the output turbine speed sensor
Depends on whether its automatic or stick.
on an 05 its located on the output drive of the transmission. you can see the plug if you look behind the right tire and follow the driveshaft to transmission.
There are 2 transmission speed sensors on the right side of the transmission... look below and just to the left of the battery and behind the base of the Transmission fluid dip stick. They look like large white nylon spark plugs. One is the input speed sensor and the other is the output speed sensor. The input is on the left... the output is on the right and is thicker than the input sensor. 1.Unclip the electrical wire connectors using a screwdriver to release the locking clip; 2. unscrew each using a long socket to fit each as they are different socket sizes. Replace with new sensors. The parts store that I purchased from had costs of $19.99 for input and $23.99 for output. The output sensor on the right is hard to reach, so, removing the input first makes a bit more room to reach in to pull out the output sensor. Use Google Images search for 2002 Chrysler Town & Country Transmission and scroll down until you see a diagram. Good luck!
If you're talking about the VSS, it's located at the top of the transmission, above the transmission output shaft. It looks like a probe, but you're only going to see the top of it until you remove it.
best website help for this is at http://www.wjjeeps.com/speed_sensors.htm. I am doing the same thing. You will need to figure out if you have a 42RE tranny or a 45 RFE tranny. Best way will be to get under the car and look to see if you have an imput and output sensor or just the output. Good luck. best website help for this is at http://www.wjjeeps.com/speed_sensors.htm.
