Composition of Outdoor Painting is a book written by Edgar Payne. There are a lot of websites that will help people find it. To name a few, one could visit websites such as Amazon, ABE Books, Good Reads and more.
The dead man in the painting, Jean-Paul Marat, was a comrade of the artist, Jacques-Louis David, during the French Revolution. Marat was a journalist and a radical who was known for rallying people for the revolt, and was ultimately murdered by Charlotte Corday, (mentioned in the note Marat is holding in the painting). Corday felt that by killing Marat, thousands of deaths in the name of the revolution could be avoided. The purpose could be interpreted as a memorial to the artist's friend as well as a political statement for the horrendous occurrences brought about from the French Revolution.
Go to the website of your local television stations and look for web links to organizations that provide activities for seniors or youth groups. Painting lessons are right there with decoupage and macrome. There are also television shows proving step by step instruction in water colors and oils that even I could probably do! Check the Sunday paper for arts and crafts shows you can attend to go and meet some artists who could help you get going.
Check www.artfact.com. They have a few paintings by L. Alies that are currently archived, so you can get a feel for the style and value of his work.
YES!HOW COULD ANYONE NOT KNOW THAT?
It is unlikely that an oil painting signed "A. Milne" would be by A.A. Milne before he became famous as a children's author. A.A. Milne was not known to be an artist or painter, and his fame and recognition came primarily from his writing.
i looking for the same answer but what i found is $20 but if it was original it could be worth up to 125 thousand

The servant girl took a look at Pissarro's painting and asked the baker who'd sponsored the event if she could have a cream bun instead. Does anyone know if the identity of the painting has survived?
No. Anyone could have sent the e-mail. It is best to have the document signed and notarized or witnessed.
Anyone, or all of the ballplayers that played in the 1985 All-Star game could have signed any given baseball. There was also more than one baseball signed, and it would be impossible to know who signed The baseball. You have to be more clear on what you are asking.
There are a number of things that could be meant by a signed watch. It could be a watch with a signed face by the artist.
A painting of part of the countryside could be known as a scenic painting.

My email address is evoncia@comcast.net. hank you so for your help. Norman
This could be Almon(d) Baldwin, born in Connecticut in 1800, moved to Cincinnati, Ohio in 1814. He eventually became a landscape and marine painter, and curator of the Wester Art Union (the forerunner of the Cincinnati Art Museum) from 1847 to 1849. Sites I've found state that only two of his works have ever been found, so what you have is most likely a print. Mine is not a print. It is an oil painting of a beautiful river with the mountain behind it and surrounded by beautiful trees. It is a 36" x 25" in size. I have had it since 1985
Because he had an illness and could then no longer do painting. Instead, he then did 'paper cutouts' which he called 'painting with scissors'.
